Hospital facility data currently shown

The main hospital list uses facility survey data published by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) through the official portal 「医療情報ネット」. The source record title 「病院施設票」 is in Japanese. Current reference period: 1 June 2026.

The total bed field is described as reported beds. It does not establish licensed, staffed, available or occupied beds.

Public source families

• Hospitals and facility records: Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare hospital facility survey data published through the official portal 「医療情報ネット」; the source record title 「病院施設票」 is in Japanese.
• Population and municipality definitions: Statistics Bureau of Japan and e-Stat, including the Population Census and Basic Resident Register; population periods differ by measure.
• Population projections: National Institute of Population and Social Security Research (IPSS), regional population projections.
• Bed function, Diagnosis Procedure Combination (DPC) records and facility-standard notifications: MHLW and the relevant Regional Bureaus of Health and Welfare. Source dates and geographic coverage can vary.
• Physicians, medical functions and public health statistics: MHLW and e-Stat published releases, shown only where the current product data contract supports them.
• Disaster and emergency designations: MHLW, Cabinet Office and other responsible public agencies, according to the specific measure.
• Housing: Statistics Bureau of Japan, Housing and Land Survey; the 2023 reference period is separate from healthcare releases.
• Traffic safety: National Police Agency traffic accident open data; events are grouped by occurrence location, not residents' place of residence.
• Housing starts: Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism building-start statistics, treated as a monthly flow measure.
• Care services and child/family measures: responsible ministries and official statistical releases. Each page identifies the source and definition used for its figures.

How to check an individual figure

Use the source details beside each measure. They identify the source agency, reference period, unit and geographic basis when available, and link to the official record or source overview. Official Japanese source pages remain available to English-language visitors and are labeled as Japanese.

Data is shown only from releases that pass the product's applicable validation checks. A missing row or value is not changed to zero.
